Media Alert

Media Alert: Minnesota Zoo’s Insect-Topia Grand Opening

What: Grand opening of Minnesota Zoo’s bug exhibit with thousands of live bugs. Visitors will be able to see giant centipedes, millipedes, the world’s largest spider, a colony of leaf-cutter ants, and the butterfly garden featuring over 600 colorful butterflies and moths.

Who: Everyone is invited

When: May 1, 2017

Why: To learn and to have fun. Zoo Director, Mary Burke says visitors will be entertained by the thousands of creeping, crawling insects but will also learn about their impact on all of us.

·      Members of the press are invited to witness face-to-face interactions between guest & bug, and capture images of beautiful bugs and their surroundings.

  1. Great job! Really like that you emphasized that everyone is invited. The only thing I would add would be a specific time! Otherwise everything is really well written!

  2. Troy, nice job! You included the Who, What, Where, When, and Why! I like that you included a note to the press as well! Only CI, like Lindsay pointed out, is a specific time would have been helpful!

    1. Hi Amy,

      I wasn't sure where to put the note for the press, I just remember it being part of the prompt about there being opportunities for members of the press, so I sort of tried to tac it on, but keep it prominent enough for media professionals to see it.

      I definitely should have included the time. Totally missed that bit.
